Arkwright Scholarship
The
Arkwright Scholarships Trust is a registered educational charity which was established in 1991. Its purpose is to encourage and stimulate high ability 15/16 year old students to take up engineering or technologyical careers by offering scholarships to those about to enter 'A' Level or Scottish Highers courses. We do this by raising money from the private sector, public sector and charitable organisations in order to fund individual scholarships valued at £1800 each. In 1991 we raised enough money to award 5 scholarships and by 2007 we broke all previous records to achieve 202 scholarships. For 2008 we have set ourselves the even greater challenge of raising money to fund 220 scholarships.
We are delighted that the
Institution of Electronics is supporting the work of Arkwright by sponsoring one of our scholars, Elaine MacQueen, who has a particular interest in electronics. By making the most of our Scholar and Alumni networks, Arkwright will also be working with the Institution of Electronics to help raise the organisation's profile and to attract the next generation of new members.

If you know of an organisation or an individual who would like to support young people into engineering and technology then please get in touch with the Arkwright Scholarship trust on 01926 333219
